Hello to the Australia Group! Just letting you all know that the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation has been created. The web site will be launched on 01/03/2010. The foundation is tax deductible. The purpose of the foundation is to provide funding into research, to educate the general public and to provide financial support to current support groups within Australia. We are currently looking for support groups in Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory, to complete full representation. If you operate a support group please contact chel@aaaf.org.au for further information.

Cheers
Chel

Australian unity paid $500 of my last wig (not a lot, given the wig cost over $3000 but every little bit helps!) That was when I was still under my parent's cover so I think it was a pretty comprehensive policy.

Hi Pat. I saw Ivonna last night and spoke to her about the interview and she was really happy with the way it went as well. She was also impressed with the journo. I'm looking forward to grabbing quite a few copies of the paper when it makes it to print :)

Ivonna and I were interviewed by a local newspaper journalist yesterday and hopefully the article will make it into the newspaper. Ivonna's courage in wanting public awareness made it easier for me and the experience was great. The journo was a young woman and so easy to talk to it was just like sitting down chatting to a friend. So now we are 'out there' and hopefully it will do some good. Alopecia world will be mentioned in the article as a great support network...I would never have met Ivonna or Nicki without it and would still continue to think I was all alone in my area. Thank you AW!!
