I am grateful for my three little ones who think I am the most beautiful woman they have ever seen :-) Not to mention my husband, who is my rock. YAY for special people!

Marie - hope you enjoy spring break :)

Yeah Marie, still I woke up this morning and it was 66 in the house and I was freezing! Now I know if people up north saw 66 they would be in shorts out at the pool, but your blood thins out down here so you can handle the 90s and high humidity in the summer. I can hardly wait!

Coffee bean. Good to drink and good to be!

Devin -- I know about the cold weather Florida has been having. My folks spend the winter there (they live in WIlliamsburg, VA), and althought they always enjoy there time there, the weather was a little disappointing. So, I'm glad it's getting warm!

I'm thankful that Spring Break starts on Friday and I get a week of doing things I love: Skiing, singing, bookbinding, hanging with my son, being with my guy...maybe even a little bit of retail therapy (a new wig?)

Ebada, thanks for sharing. It made me think a bit and i'm gonna try to start being a coffeebean :D

Today I'm grateful strangely for the rain...it cools the weather down.

i'm just grateful for being alive and having the love and support of family and friends. I know its not nice having alopecia but it could be so much worse and even although I struggle I try to remember that.

Hi guys, I just wanted to share this with you, I read it and I loved it. Sorry if it’s too long, I trimmed it down a lot.
RE YOU A CARROT, AN EGG, OR A COFFEE BEAN?
by Mary Sullivan

fill three pots with water.
In the first, place carrots.
In the second, place eggs.
And the last, place ground coffee beans.

Each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water - but each reacted differently.

The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid center. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its insides had become hardened.

The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water...they had changed the water.

Think of this: Which am I?

Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship, or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my outer shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water - the very circumstances that bring the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor of the bean. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you instead of letting it change you.
