Recently, a mother whose beautiful young daughter has alopecia said to me, "I always tell my daughter that you are her twin. I tell her when she grows up, she's going to look like you."
The emotions that statement elicited in me were very strong: I was honored and extremely humbled.
Our reach as alopecians is far beyond us. We may be just living our lives and, at the same time, encouraging a neighbor, a person on our morning commute, or perhaps someone we least expect.
Keep your head up high and remember that someone may be encouraged by your simple presence.
Thanks for posting Cheryl-This is so true.
We have so much to give others - by quietly coping and encouraging or by standing up and proclaiming. We are special people.
Amen to that sister!!!!!
INSPIRATIONAL & ENCOURAGING WORDS ARE WHAT MAKES LIFE SO MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL.
What beautiful words, thanks for being such an inspiration, I often forget my own power.
Thank you for posting this. It is really helpful to me as I am currently trying to get used to going to work and out and about bare headed, with my buzzed/shaved hair and patches for the world to see. Sometimes I still want to hide under my wigs but this really helps me keep going xxx
Well you are brave as I haven't the courage to go out without my wig, Iam such a sight with half a head of hair. To make matters worse there is no sign of it returning over one year later. I try to forget about it but find it all very depressing.
You are so right , I love this site, Thank you Cheryl for your encouraging words.
