Follea Gripper wig
Hi,
I'm new here and wanted to try a Follea gripper wig, has anyone bought one and how do you like it. Does it make you feel hotter in the summer? What kind of pricing are they?

While pricey, the Gripper hair is lovely and top quality. Overall, I do not care for the construction or comfort level of the cap. My Gripper is a nice chin-length bob with natural movement. I ordered it specifically for ballroom dance activities. What I've found, however, is that if you perspire, the silicone does not grip and the unit moves around. (Imagine doing double and triple spins and your hair flying across the competition floor. NOT how I'd like to attract the judges' attention. lol) For dancing, I have much better results with a combination of Got 2BGlued and Mighty Tite on a custom fitted full lace wig.
The Gripper is very nice and I wear it when I'm not dancing, but I most likely will not buy another one.

I have two gripper wigs (a cooler and a sport one) and I'm very satisfied with them.
Right now I'm wearing a gripper cooler. A saw that Lori wrote and my experience is different from hers. I can dance as long as I want with my gripper sport - it doesn't move. I'm going out with my friends on rock concerts and I can shake my head just like I use to do when I had my own hair. I'm completly bald and this might be an "advantage", I don't know. Before Follea I never thought that I will be able to do sports or to dance like a normal woman.
I think it there isn't a universal solution for all alopecians, the best thing would be to find the right one for you. therefore, you can contact a follea retailer and try them on and see how it fits you (that's how I choose mines). if the wind blows then you will feel it going through your hair without being affraid that it will fall off. Is much coller that the ones I use to wear (monofilament tops form Rene of Paris, Raquel Welch, Estetica).
The Gripper Sport tends to be a little bit hot in the summer, but is not very uncomfortable. I have a sensitive scalp and I have no problem what so ever with my follea.
I also use to sleep in it (for 2 months) and now I ocasionaly sleep in it. It feels just like my own hair. I wash my scalp twice a day (in the morning and in the evening) and I wash my wig every 3-4 days. Hi, I just ordered the sport myself, I do have some hair left and the consultant said I would not have to shave if I didn't want to, I agree that I would think it could slip more with hair, as I don't think it would "stick" like it should. I'm happy to hear that you are happy with yours I'm so up and down right now, as I have not been wearing a wig, and just trying my best to hide my loss, I do pretty good but it is getting worse and I fear the wind so much now, can't wait for that to be gone, and for some reason people have been touching my hair a lot, don't know why but that's a real no no, because I don't have any hair underneath. Thanks for your uplifting words.

I have a gripper and a freedom vacuum. In my personal opinion the gripper cannot compare to the vacuum. When I wear the gripper outside and I get hot the gripper becomes very itchy. The hair seems to fall out fast as well. Unfortunately the gripper now sees my closet more than my head. :(

yes it's me! I know I should not compare the two pieces but when I was buying my gripper I thought it would act as a second piece for me. Sadly that is not the case and my gripper sits in my closet. I guess I am disappointed and just want people to know my experience. Sometimes both these options are what people are deciding between so I just want them to know my experience if it can help them at all. I thought i would also be able to swap one out for the other in my day to day but they hair looks so different from each other. The hair on the gripper being processed does not look as nice as my vacuum and i am a little self conscious of someone else noticing. It's sounds like you enjoy your gripper? Do you only wear the gripper now or do you still wear your vacuum as well? Hope all is well with you!

What are the "advantages" and "disadvantages" of each piece??....so pricey to buy without knowing which would be better for you personally

It is difficult to understand the two different products that are being discussed here.
I personally don't feel it is helpful to compare as they are very different in all aspects I feel the Freedom Features and benefits are without compare (I could be bias though :)). You need to understand each wig and what it can give you. People's personal opinions can be off putting but still worthwhile. Be open and thoughtful around the information given. I would think everybody loves their wig of choice otherwise they wouldn't wear it.
Some of the questions I would ask are about security, customisation, hair quality, implanting techniques, aesthetics, comfort, looking after your wig, durability/longevity, hair maintenance etc.
I can help you with anything you may like to know about the Freedom Wig, but I'm not knowledgeable at all about the Follea Grippers, so can't help there.
Feel free to message me or pop into my page, my daughter has worn Freedom for the last 10 years and I help people in New Zealand with this choice of wig, so understand them.
The pictures on my page are of Libby and friends wearing a Freedom Wig (not me - I'm mum and don't wear a wig).

I believe all lace handtied pieces can be worn off the face and I believe that would include the 'Gripper'.
