I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Hey Lindzzj, for the copay card you don't need prior authorization from insurance. They will probably tell you that you do but they are mistaken... you really don't. Otherwise none of us wouldve been able to get it. If you have the prescription and the copay card printed out, I would recommend going in person to CVS and explaining your situation. Give the the phone number that Phizer provides to the pharmacist and have them call it to help them processing the card. It's 1-866-562-6851. I say go to CVS because a lot of us have gone there with the card and it should be in their system notes that this is the protocol. Hope this helps.

Thank you! :)
We just bought some from Turkey it cost us around £340 a bottle (Xejanz) without prescription
I shall start my own trial on these meds for my skin condition !!!!
What's the name of that pharmacy plz mate? And is that for 60 or 56 tablets? Also did you get that shipped or picked it up in person ? Thanks
I am also very curious about the name of the pharmacy and the location in turkey.

Also could you please provide us with a picture of the pills and its package?

A few posts back someone posted some xeljanz pills from turkey and they had a different package. Im just worried the pills are not from the same quality as the ones from the us because of the massive difference in price
I shall do so once am back home
By the weekend taken my children to a summer camp !!!!
Once I discovered it was licensed in turkey my wife called a colleague who was over there on holiday she made enquiry and got us three bottles, it was that easy !!!! She was abit concern whether she would be allowed at the airport other than that, we got !!!! Will post pictures by Sunday !!!! We live in the UK and I have been to turkey and what I know of the place not really surprised to be honest !!!!
Thanks Toks :)

someone has a list of countries where you can buy Xeljanz

List of countries so far are Russia !!! Turkey !!! Switzerland !!! Kuwait !!! States !!!

Any one else taking and feeling happy, excited AND scared?

I am scared
Because once I start taking the meds
There's no turning back

You're absolutely correct. Because you will end up loosing more hairs at very fast pace if you stop it. And no one have $25000 per year to maintain Xeljanz usage.
