I've had alopecia since I've been 16. I shaved my head in May 2005. I go through stages of having eyelashes and then none. Eyebrows have grown back now. It's been 4 years that I've had them. I'm a speech language pathologist working in Texas.I like to work out and cook. I'm a nerd. I love to dance and play my guitar. I love my alopecia. Its a good story to tell other people about my fun adventures. I've had it for a few years now. I'm still the same person --fun, blessed, cheerful, peppy, outgoing and happy!
Hi there! You are beautiful! I love your wig too. Is it real? Also, do you have your eyebrows tatooed? They look really pretty and I am thinking of getting some.
You are gorgeous, a very beautiful lady, and you look good in a wig, but I can just imagine how good you must look bald, wearing a pair of long earrings.
I am married to a beautiful bald lady myself, she has au.
Hi Stacie,
You are beautiful and have a great attitude!
I thought I'd let you know about my book, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" Advance copies are available now -- you can go to www.leslieannbutler.npauthors.com and read more about it and get a copy. Or go to my page and there's a link -- good luck with Miss Bald America!!

Hi gorgeous! Just wanted to invite you to my alopecia workshop/support group this Sunday - it's taking place at 5pm at my salon in New York City. Let me know if you can make it!!
Hi, thanks for the info. Are you going to the NAAF convention this year? I'm planning on getting a suite to have a gathering...
Definitely give me a call when you plan to come to the City. Look forward to meeting you.
Hi Stacie
Good luck with the pageant. It is so inspiring reading about young people who are not letting Alopecia stop them from having a full and rewarding life. You are an inspiration to my 11 year old daughter who has been living with Alopecia for 3 years now.
Take care
Sharon
Hi Stacie, saw an article in the news about the pageant and thought about you. I'm sure you are very busy right now but just wanted you to know that we're all supporting you! Best of luck!
Hey Stacie, it's been forever since I have talked to you and I am excited about your pageant! How wonderful!
Have you had a chance to read my book? I would love to know how you liked it!
Hugs, LeslieAnn
Hi Stacie! Congrats on the win!!!! And thank you so much for representing us all with AA as beautiful:) I hope you are as proud of yourself as I know we all are of you!
Ah.. i need to chat with u. dont think im crazy but our lives seem very parallel. Ive had AA sine I was 2, shaved 1 year ago and I am a speech pathologist.. going back to school 2 get my masters in Jan. coinsidence? ttyl
Hi Stacie
I was just checking in to see how you did in the pageant but judging from your comments, I take it you won?! How did your alopecia speach go? I'm so proud of you! :)
I showed my daughter your pictures. You are so beautiful. She is 12 and had had AU for 3 years. She just started experiencing some anxiety, but after viewing your page, I noticed a big change in her. Thank you so much for being such an inspiration. I have put in a friend request also. My daughter, Emma will probably do the same. Thank you again. Have a great day,
Terri
Your pictures make me remember that even though we have alopecia...we are still beautiful. Your hair is great! Do you mind if I ask what you are wearing?
its going okay. actually hard because I only have my B.A. in Speech, Language Hearing and its really difficult to get into a credited university and work full-time. ASHA makes it too difficult. how is it going for you?
Hey Stacie:
Thanks for getting back to me. I understand about being busy. I know you are extremely busy! My little girl has had AU for 3 years. She is 12 and in the 7th grade. This is a very trying year for us. She has good and bad days. She has not told her peers of her condition. We have always had a good hair piece for her and she chose not to tell everyone. She does however have 2 best friends that have always been there for her. I think the hardest for me is the change in her appearance. Especially when I look at old photos. I grieve somewhat for that child. Does that make sense? She has no eyelashes or eyebrows. They will not tatoo eyebrows until she is 16. There are days when she doesn't want to wear her wig, but would rather stay home and be home schooled. I just dont think that would be wise. I think she would get depressed if she stayed home. I dont want her to feel like she needs to hide from this either. I really appreciate you getting back to me. Please stay in touch. How is college?
Terri
Hey Stacie, those are great pics of you! I live in Jersey and was wondering where you get your wigs? I am currently in search for one since my hair has almost completely fallen out.
I just read all your notes. You sound like a wonderful person and so positive. I have alopecia and I think to that part of it is stress. I think that my IUD had something to do with it, so I got that removed. It was fallin out pretty bad. I still have my own hair at this point. Having a harder and harder time hiding the patches. I am so scared of it getting to the point I can't hide them. What do I do? Wear scarfs or bandannas? or jump right into a wig? I also work out pretty hard daily. What do I do when/if I have to wear a wig when working out? I hope all is well with you and your schooling.
Hey Stacie! How are you doing? I did end up competing at Miss Delaware this year, and decided to compete this time wearing a wig, and changed my platform to Alopecia Awareness. I placed in the Top 10, and won a preliminary award. I'm not sure what my plans are for the upcoming season though. What about you??
Stacie, Hi there! Glad to see that you can have this AA and still be happy. This gives me hope. You are truly beautiful. Where did you get your wig? I looks really good! I really like the style of it! I am currently looking into me options for wigs now and I'm looking at people in here that look good. I would appreciate any help! Thanks! Melissa :)
thanks.its just i had such a hard time when i first got it.i wish that i had knowen others with alopicia so they could help my through every thing so i just want to help others.it feels rite u know. :)
