Lack of Emotion

I shave my head now and then. I let my hair get about half an inch long and then save it mainly because I’m lazy. Well, I have noticed that a little patch of hair is growing in. I have been deciding between shaving it off or seeing what the little hairs will do. You’d think that would make me happy but I don’t really have any emotions about it. That started me soul searching about it. I came up with 3 reasons for my lack of emotion. Number one would be that it would be silly for me to get… Continue

Can You Help?

I'm looking for someone who may know a GOOD wig shop in the Seattle, WA area. I will be heading over soon and I would like to check it out.

Coeur d' Alene, Idaho Hair Gallery

I used to go to this wig store in Boise, Idaho called Kathy's Wig Boutique. They had a great selection and the ladies working there were so nice and cut wigs really well but it was SO FAR from the town I live in in Idaho that I had to find a new place. So, I started asking around about wig sores that are not so far from home and Momkidd told me about a great new shop in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho called Exclusively Wigs and Things. It is located at 501 W. Appleway Suite Y, Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and… Continue

Has anyone ordered a wig from the Paula Young catalog? If so what do you think of them? Color, texture, how long do they last...

Goodbye to my friend.

On June 2nd, 2008, an early Monday morning, my child, best friend and walking partner of 14 years passed away. He was the sweetest, kindest and most honest “person” I have ever met. He was handsome, happy and healthy up until that terrible day. He was my puppy Max. I am very sad but I have been thanking God every day that he blessed me with such a wonderful friend. When I stopped to think about it I learned how to be a better person from him and will try hard to apply that to the way I live my… Continue

I'm Still Not Brave Enough

I ordered a new wig. It's the same as my old one. I'm still not brave enough to try a different style. The style and color look nice anyway. Oh well, maybe in another 6 months when I get a new one again I will be a little more comfortable and make that change. I did order something called hat head. It's that thing that looks like a sling shot on the top (straps to hold it on your head) and has hair around the edges so you can wear a ball cap or bandana. I’m excited about it because I think it's… Continue

Sometimes You Gotta Just Laugh!

I need a laugh today and maybe you do too. Some days I wish I didn’t have the bald thing going on and some days I don’t mind it at all. How ever I feel about it I think that a person should be able to see humor in any situation. When Brittney Spears shaved her head a magazine was on our break room table with her on the front. I picked it up to have a look at the story and someone that works in our building came in the break room and said “Well Donna I think you should shave your head bald just… Continue

The Hard Truth

As you can read in my first posting it was very hard for me to put on the wig and be brave enough to go in public for the first time. It was so traumatic and I doubt my mind has fully recovered in the almost 2 years that have past. I really would like a new hair style but I can’t bring myself to make the change because I don’t want to draw attention to myself again. My second wig was a much better fit and only cut slightly different than my first and just a shade lighter so people didn’t really… Continue

It's About Time I Let it Out and Let it GO.

When I was a kid my mom would wash my hair in the kitchen sink. Once when I was 6 to 8 years old (I can’t remember the exact age.) my mom found a little nickel sized bald spot on my head. Thinking it was odd she took me to the doctor. They didn’t know much but they did call it Alopecia Areata. They said most kids grow out of it but a few grow up and lose all the hair they have…and oh and by the way… no known cause and no known cure. SUPER! The word BALD was introduced to me as a child and it… Continue
