Misfortune can become fortune

An old man and his son lived in an abandoned fortress on the side of a hill. Their only possession of value was a horse. One day the horse ran away. The neighbours came by to offer sympathy. "That's really bad!" they said. "How do you know?" asked the old man.

The next day, the horse returned, bringing with it several wild horses. The old man and his son shut them all inside the gate. The neighbours hurried over. "That's really good!" they said. "How do you know?" asked the old… Continue

The Samurai and the Zen Master - A Japanese Story

- "You cannot plough a field by turning it over in your mind." ANON

- "Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall." Confucius

- "Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an… Continue

I'm officially single now, my ex moved out three days ago (finally after I helped him move) and my emotions are still a handbag of variety. About two weeks ago I had a little issue at work about the wig I was wearing in and I don't know if it's just me or the stress I've been having but I didn't like what people were saying. I had one old guy, a customer, tell me he liked my hair colour and asked if we had a stain to match so… Continue
