I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Most people who are taking medications, already tried different diets. I did an AIP for 6 months and a lectin free for 6 weeks. Alopecia got much worse during my dieting process.

That’s great you healed your body with diet and natural therapies. Most of us here tried diets, of all auto-immune variety, AIP, vegan, keto, lectin free, fodmap, etc... for us they didn’t work, and no we didn’t cheat or lie about it, what’s the point if you cheat on alopecia... they didn’t work for many of us.  Sometimes alopecia got worse, other times the weight loss was unsustainable. Many of here spent thousands on alternative therapies- acupuncture, Chinese medicine, detox’s, books promising a natural cure.... they didn’t work. We are not lazy and no one would take Tofacitinib unless they needed to, it caused many of us to gain weight, get acne, we have to have blood tests monthly... who would do that if a natural therapy worked... I’m happy for you, but frankly your judgement does nothing to make our situation better. There are so many forums and threads on this website that cater to your mindset. This thread is for those of us who have decided to medicate, not without serious thought and consideration. We are not here because we support the pharmaceutical companies, we are here because we want our hair back.

Exactly what Frida said. Good for you. You are writing passive aggressive and populist statements to disregard science. Just move to a different thread/forum. We don't need that. This thread has been aiming to support people that have Alopecia and have been taking/or are looking for more info about JAK inhibitors and in specific Tofacitinib.

So take me through a daily diet for you, do tell ...just some probiotics and avoid omega oil .. this is awesome news !

I would love to not have to take a pill.. can i just eat more yogurt?

it is a person who has something to sell so tell the diets to those who want to try if it is a miracle cure

How do u know i want to " sell " something ? Huh ? Selling a diet here lol  while its available free through google  search ?

U have NO idea how much addicted to med usa ppl are.. get it ?

In usa they even have medicine advertisement on TV  for children to watch also lol ...oh u feeling sad take our this addictive med...

And new ppl who are reading this thread plz beware u may get seriously sick taking 15 mg jak inhebitor and may even get cancer ..not all people here tell u they get seriously sick then they take anti biotic and distroy immune system even more

Instead of making your body healthy its in west culture ( specially usa ) to take a pill to fix everything

Oh u feeling sad take this anti depressent

Oh u cant focus take this med

Ur children have Adhd ..here is semi-meth for him

Oh i cant travel through plane i need that med

Its just sad and comical to watch reliance on medicine in west culture they dont understand many of new disease are due to diet and lazy life style ..

They are intelligent but arent wise .........

I was AU for 7 years. The first 3 years I went Vegan, gluten free, lactose free and did yoga and more excercise than never, totally unsustainable and compulsive obsessive life. Didnt grow one single hair.

I decided to stop the bullshit and just live a normal life the next 3 years. Eating, drinking, smoking and doing whatever the *#$ I wanted.

Then suddenly 6 months ago someone introduced me to Xeljanz and now Im still enjoying life but now with +90% of my hair back

So yeah, I dont give a thing about crazy miraclous diets

What do I care if I have medicals or pineapples in my body? at the end life is too short to spend it thinking ALL day about what you eat or drink.

Everybody deeps inside know their limits. This pill was engineered and designed by man, same as the automobile, the internet. Humans are supposed to build stuff to move the human race forward and solve the peoples problems faced through lifes path.

Good luck with your keto and please go away

Perfect words juan.. i eat pretty damn healthy but i’m not willing to be so strict and obsessive... i’ve lived that obsessive life as well. Xeljanz was the only thing that brought back hair.

I was on keto for 2 years and l lost 100+ lbs. I also went AU towards the 20month mark of keto.

While I think it's all gut related, keto and food isn't helping us out. FMT maybe, and stem cells and other forms of medicine that can help us get off medication . But that won't happen probably in our lifetime .

Stem cell therapy is absolutely effective and would probably solve most auto immune diseases.. but that is more of a cure and solution, it basically repairs dna and puts back what is missing, can “fix” defective cells  in dna makeup , it would be proactive in solution to people prone to diseases..yeah probably wont be available anytime soon.

Have you read abot dr Angela Christiano? I've send request to their office that I want to be in the trial group for her research... She sounds promising ;(
