I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

hello Franckie even 1 week without medication you will see no loss,

but in the long term you will suffer a 2mg loss in clinical trials there are bad results.

4mg 1 in 3 has at least 80% to 100% recovery.

I am on my second box of olumiant 4mg

I was also on beacon 11mg tofacinix since 2018 so far my eyebrows and mustache fuller.

hair 20% nothing different so far.

no side effects my dermatologist told me that it was more in terms of long term safety unlike xeljanz

Thank you!

Yes, and no! I waited till my prescription needed a refill. Then started the new medication the day after getting the prescription. If there was an overlap it was hours not days.

How are things trending for you since switching?

I switched from Xeljanz to Olumiant 1.5 mo ago and have noticed thinning of my hair.

Xeljanzjourny, I have a thickening of my facial hair including eyebrows.

Scalp hair has also thickened. I believe I have male pattern baldness so growth is primarily on the slides of my head.

Olumiant allows someone to see alopecia spots on my scalp.

Before, xeljanz provided growth but Olumiant more pronounced.  Although uike with xeljanz Olumiant reveals stubborn alopecia spots.

Overall it's a mixed bag but for me Olumiant is better.

As a reminder I have had alopecia totalis for just over 45 years.

Others my get better results.

Effectiveness for me may be limited.

Does anyone order Baricitinib  from India Mart? Would you trust it if it says it is made by Lily pharmaceutical?
thanks

hello Sadel I tried everything tofacinix 20mg plus cortisone but the hair has 20%,
beard 90% eyebrows 70% body hair 60%
do you think it's the addition of other drugs that made your hair grow?

I been trying ruxolitinib cream for some spots that come back when i drop xeljanz to 15 mg.. i dont know how well it is working , i been putting it on spots 2 x a day, and the spots are covered w white hair. Im still taking 15 mg xeljanz. So was wondering if anyone was having any results w cream.. i have not been religious w 2 x a day but have been trying to make it more of a habit daily. Hope all of you are as good as can be and enjoying the summer, i notice summer months w sun and vitamin d keeps it somewhat at bay, i cant figure this disease out , just trying to be accepting of situation, and it is so better then it was . I really dont think about it as much but when i cut my hair and see the back w the mirror i become a little more self conscious of it. Give updates on new approaches everyone

Why would you be on Xeljanz and minoxidil? Minoxidil did nothing for me, oral or topical.

Well, topical is demanding. I can't seem to keep a protical. Oral works better for me overall.

I have had AA for a very long time. I believe I need to adress the disorder in any way possible.

Studies show it has an effect on AA.

Bonjour je le prend depuis 2 semaine ,
