Well I have finally found a new wig, I loved the new place I found the owner Angie was brilliant, experienced, had family with alopecia and had the patience to help me find the right one, had just what I was looking for waiting for me ready (after I'd suggested what I wanted) and picked me a nice new ROP wig. One issue I found was she very sneakily kept the tag so I don't know what she got me lol but she did everything cut it to suit, adjusted the cap to make it smaller and fit my head…

I was talking to my boyfriend about not being able to find a wig yesterday in the store that I liked. He came out with some things he may have been brave enough to say, yet he is the only one I know who would dare say it to me...
He said not to go for styles too short as often you can see at the back of the wig the strips where it is all attached. It took my bit by surprise and made me relook at different wigs I had seen on line.
I was always worried about the tops of wigs, I…

Another frustrating time trying on wigs in my local place that sells them. I always hate the way they are the staff I often wonder why I go yet there is no where else... I always hate how they pick wigs you may like before telling you the price tag. They also have not enough shades or a colour ring.... Sigh I'm going to have to risk on line I think and just hope I like the colour but at the moment I'm very deflated

For those in UK, I am just watching ‘The Voice’ a tv program about talent singing, judged only on their voice (judges have their backs to the stage and only if they choose them to go through do they turn around)… a lady has alopecia has just bravely walked on stage proud as anything and overcome so much, it made me cry…
First time I have ever cried watching one of these shows, I felt her so much. Bless her and good luck to her and it shows that how people judge so much on looks and that…

It's a warm day today and my wig covered head is feeling warm and somewhat sweaty. ;) sorry for bluntness. Anyhow I was sat in the pub thinking boy I feel warm and nearly wipped off my wig to cool down as I'd normal at home before I realised where I was and it made me smile thinking I wonder how people will react if I did. The guys on a near by table verious people around... I was almost tempted to see lol but I'm not that brave yet.

Those of you who may have read my previous posts I did a post about wig frustration, I find it so hard to pick a wig there are often so many choices out there, colour, style, many styles start to look the same the more you look at the different ones, along with length etc. Well anyhow I am nearly getting to a point of actually making a choice, I have narrowed it all down to a few different things…
1) I decided to not bother with Human hair, unless I pay a LOT of money the human one I…

Not hair related but still alopecia related - I have spent awhile looking at my nails today, all ridges and flaky, I debate often about getting some expensive 'nail hardener' stuff from the shops, but then think is it just a ploy to spend more money.
I also heard that fake nails help real nails to grow as they don't get knocked, yet I also hear fake nails can ruin real nails. Do I stop covering them in nail varnish to recover? Yet colouring them helps me add to me feeling more female.…

Sigh... I've just been looking around on line for wig ideas. I learned which suppliers the local hair places use and look through the catalogues on line. But what I don't ever understand are the price differences. It could be the same brand of wig but the long hair lengths cost less then the required shorter length. Do I buy long then go to a decent hair dresser to cut it? Do I keep looking for a decent priced short length. Man they are so expensive in the UK. I'm also a bit worried about on…

I hate looking in a mirror sometimes, it’s like it’s a reminder of everything, but you know what gets me the most, its not the actual alopecia it’s the wig not looking right. It has just dawned on me all I am having is not a OMG I have alopecia moment, I am having a typical woman’s thought of man I am having a bad hair day and is actually totally normal woman’s issue of a bad hair day, sometimes it doesn’t do as its supposed too… but most woman say oh well put some product on and away they…

A small moan: Anyone who read/reads my last blog post would see I dyed my wig a much darker colour then it was previously.
Out of everyone in work, only one person has noticed and commented on it, and she only works in the canteen, not really I spend a lot of time with.
I don’t know if they all know it’s a wig and don’t know what to say, or if they just do not take half as much notice to hair as I thought they might.
It’s in some ways upsetting, making me more…

Well I decided I wanted to dye my ‘human hair’ wig yesterday, for a Christmas boost. I had done it before and it has become a bit of an addiction, why buy a new colour when I can boost this one just a little more… I always worry though. Just before I start thinking, what if all the hair falls off, and then what? But I do it anyhow.
Now I have read a number of times, always go for a shade lighter then you want, and never leave it in for the full time.
The first time I dyed my hair…
Hello, I am sure who ever stumbles across my blog will be nice. I don’t know how often I will post, more than likely as and when I am having an ‘alopecia moment’ I think this will be a good place to express my feelings without worrying people will judge…
I more or less have fully hair loss, I have at least 90-95% I guess, well maybe more like 95-99% lol I guess it is a little bit of me not fully accepting its more gone then I like think off. I have lost 99.5% of the hair on my head,…
