A little positive thinking

I love quotes, especially if they motivate or inspire. Here are a few that I have found helpful:

- "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

Harold R. McAlindon

- "You cannot plough a field by turning it over in your mind." ANON

- "Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall." Confucius

- "Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an… Continue

Haven't bloged in a while

I haven't been here much lately, just enough to check up on things. I'm officially single now, my ex moved out three days ago (finally after I helped him move) and my emotions are still a handbag of variety. About two weeks ago I had a little issue at work about the wig I was wearing in and I don't know if it's just me or the stress I've been having but I didn't like what people were saying. I had one old guy, a customer, tell me he liked my hair colour and asked if we had a stain to match so… Continue

The secret is out!

I was initially going to keep alopecia a secret from everyone I worked with but it's been slowly seeping out. I was walking home from work one day and it was soooo hot out that halfway home I ripped the wig off. Although I know I shouldn't, I tucked my wig away in my purse on the side of a busy street. Shortly afterwards I ran into a woman I work with and didn't realize she wouldn't recognize me but I said hi anyways and kept walking. About five steps beyond her she turned and out came… Continue

I'm told I never ask, so I will: I need help!

I seriously think that some people are just born unlucky - like me! Unlike most I was unlucky before environmental factors kicked in, I was adopted by the wicked witch of the west and was hers from day one. At least my adopted dad was something good that came out of this all but unfortunately he's been gone for about 10 years now. Beyond that I've had countless unlucky events, doesn't matter what it is! Now just recently I've been trying for a few years to get child support from my ex and the… Continue

Haircuts

I booked an appointment with a stylist who cuts wigs earlier this week and saw her this morning. I was planning on getting a new wig in the near future but don't quite have the money raised yet and with back to school and all, it's not going to happen for a little while longer. I had to cut down on the frizz my wig had though, it was looking real bad and I think most people can actually tell it's a wig. So we shortened it a bit and got rid of the frizz and I got my bangs cut too which is great… Continue

I feel...

I guess I've kind of gotten used to the fact that I wear a wig at work but it has kind of sucked too. I had a customer with alopecia the other day but I didn't have time to say anything, had I not been wearing a wig it might have come up and I would have been able to mention it but you can't do that discreetly and quickly at the same time. Then yesterday, a girl I worked with elsewhere, came to me. I recognized her right away and she just couldn't for the life of her, remember who I was. Then I… Continue
