I have had alopecia for a while as many of you know lol, but I still cant bring myself to say ' this is how i am now' I mean i see a lot of ppl fulling embracing their baldness, and loving it and all that sort of thing , but I cant help but feel like I'm missing something, and to be honest its quite annoying when ppl are all like ' this is me, now i love being bald because i can switch up my

In addition to vocalists Dee Dee Bridgewater, Shelby Johnson, and our own Alopecia World member, Lili (aka Eulalia), on the new TV show "The Voice", Christina Aguilera has TWO women on her team who have smoothly shaved heads.
Here are links showing photos of two of the first three singers chosen by Aguilera on last night's premiere:

Watching tonight the new singing show The Voice. A beautiful bald woman walks out on to the stage and rocks a song. The woman Frenchie Davis. Dont know if she has alopecia or just loves the look, but does it really matter???? Hell NO!! Bald and Fabulous rocking it out on tv !!!!!
Oh and the basis of this show as oppose to American Idol, they do blind auditions. Meaning the judges are not allowed to see the contestants until they decide they love their voices.

Hello:)
I was wondering if anyone has found an extremely realistic wig. I would really like to be able to pull my (wig) hair behind my ears and not have to worry about it looking unnatural. I play a lot of sports and need to be able to pull my hair back. Cost isn't an issue. I currently have a locks of love piece, but i have had it for a few years now and it is starting to fall apart. The only problem with the locks of love wig is that the hairline didn't look very convincing, and i always…

When I lost most of my hair it was March 2011 and I took the necessary precautions wearing scarves, hats, buffs, etc. I noticed I felt the cold a lot faster than when I had some hair on my head.
I'm finding that now that it is getting hotter outside, my head sweats! Man! And the sweat goes right to my ears. never realized hair kept that from happening.
On another note, I'm losing my eyebrows. I have pretty much very thick Groucho-Marx-like eyebrows. I notice that I don't…

Hi...i've had AA, AT and AU for most of my life and have also always had many allergies, mainly to perfumes or fragrances in products. I've never really put the two together but as I got older and my Alopecia changed from stage to stage, my perfume sensitiviy also got stronger. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing or if its just simply that I have an allergy to perfume.

I was reading the Jewish Chronicle the other day and there was an article about a man named: Philip Levine. Since going bald he decided to use his head as a canvas for art. I really like this idea! He has a couple of websites, so check them out:

Recently, a Redditor wrote Valve Software Company to inquire about the bald guy in the Valve logo pictured here. The Redditor got this really cool response from Ray Ueno:
I worked with Gabe and team to develop the "guy in the logo" back when we first named the company, Valve (circa 1995/6), and…

So the last time I blogged I was 3 months pregnant and my hair had started to fall out again. Well it decided to do that wonderful thing that alopecia areata does and grow back and give me hope. At one point it actually started to get really full and thick and i had no spots. Then my little pumpkin was born (Hailey Darlene Burley-Heslop Oct 31st, 2010 thats why we call her our pumpkin 8lbs 13oz she was a big pumpkin lol) and then i noticed the back of my hair line started to creep up and up and…

Last year I was diagnosed with a mixed Scarring Alopecia. Alopecia is just a fancy word for hair loss. This is an extremely rare condition. There are many different types of Alopecia (including male pattern baldness) and they are further categorized into scarring and non-scarring.
Without medication my symptoms are a bright red inflamed scalp, dry flaky lesions, prickly pear itching,, patchy areas of pustules that burst and drain. and areas of tenderness all over my scalp. It is…

I told gim how insecure I am answering the door in my turban or for everytime someone sees me I have a total different wig on you know what he said to me," WHO CARES it's none of their business why you do those things, you are who you are and you neeed to be happy about that.
As we said goodbye he gave me a hug which normally never happens, but he did and told me "hang in…

Yep, I'm a bald and I love it! I don't feel like I'm hiding some secret any longer. Well...with hairloss I wasn't really hiding anything, I was ignoring a problem that was right in front of my face in hopes that nobody would notice. Anyway, I digress. I am bald, I am happy about it. I still wear a wig to work and church. I am afraid that it would be career suicide at work, I work in management so I think I'll keep on wearing the wig there. At home I am a free bald bird. I haven't been "out" as…

Well I just changed my profile pic on facebook. Bald, for all to see. Why? I was sitting here after a challenging phone call by my daughter thinking of the trauma she has lived through and is still going through and by association my hb and I as well when suddenly my hairloss didn't seem important anymore. Why am I hiding this? A lot of people I know know I'm bald. I gave a whole speech on it for god's sake to a crowd of people, some I associate with regularly. I outed myself publicly. So...…
