Question for all to answer yay or nay and please answer honestly with all answers and comments...is it a good idea to shave my head to help my teen daughter with her transition with losing all her hair..should I be bald right beside her?

How was middle for you dealing with Alopecia? And if children picked on you what would you like to say to them today?

Well I was born with alopecia totalis. I've been made fun of, called a guy, called names, a lot just because I have no hair. Everyone here actually knows how I feel which makes me feel good. Last night on Jay Leno he did a bit about why products at the 99 cent store might be 99 cents. In this segment he shows a "fashion doll", somewhat like a Barbie, and after he opened it, showed why it was only 99 cents. The doll only had long hair around its head and none in the center.

I've had AA since I was six but recently I've started losing hair all over my body, including my eyelashes and eyebrows. You can't really notice that my eyelashes are falling yet, I think, and I use eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows but I'm scared it's going to get worse and won't know what to do... What do those of you who have no eyebrows or eyelashes do to conceal this hair loss? I would love to get some advice :) Thank you!

I went to work that fateful morning in a daze. My mind just repeated itself over and over again. “What is going on?” I had no idea where my hair had gone or why it fell out so quickly.

Had a really bad day, forgot mobile,sav nav stopped working on way to hospital appointment and after it I couldn't move my right arm, due a procudure of calcification. I stupidly said, God what else is going to go wrong today.....

In the shower washing my hair I got my answer, (after over a year of a full head of hair and was even considering getting another shorter hair cut) I felt that smooth skin feeling you can not mistake!

AA started again!!!! So go out the ice-cream and went…
