So I went to my usually psychiatrist today, he put me on better meds to help me cope with my depression over hairloss. I told gim how insecure I am answering the door in my turban or for everytime someone sees me I have a total different wig on you know what he said to me," WHO CARES it's none of their business why you do those things, you are who you are and you neeed to be happy about that.

Loving every minute of it!

Yep, I'm a bald and I love it! I don't feel like I'm hiding some secret any longer. Well...with hairloss I wasn't really hiding anything, I was ignoring a problem that was right in front of my face in hopes that nobody would notice. Anyway, I digress. I am bald, I am happy about it. Well I just changed my profile pic on facebook. Bald, for all to see. Why? I was sitting here after a challenging phone call by my daughter thinking of the trauma she has lived through and is still going through and by association my hb and I as well when suddenly my hairloss didn't seem important anymore. Happy yesterday, sad today

I sure wish there was something magical to make me happy, I feel as if there is no hope.

I couldn't get over how happy I was yesterday and BANG!! today I am completely opposite.

I wish they would find a cure for alopecia, just like they are trying for cancer patients, heart and stroke foundation why the hell isn't it for alopecia?? makes me so angry.

WOW I needed that!

My first "Gentleman"!

Itching

Hey guys. Just curious on everyone's level of itching. My head itches like CRAZY when the hair falls out. normally skin itches when hair grows in right? Anyone know why?
I stopped going to the dermatologist after 4 rounds of injections. I felt it did more harm than good for me. I am not a fan of chemicals being blasted into my head and it didn't seem to make the hair grow back. but doctorless, I'm left with a ton of questions about this condition.

My New Look

I have gotten to the point where I was frustrated with my hair. It was getting more and more difficult to hide my holes. My pony-tail was about half the size it once was. Can anyone relate?

I wear turbans everydya in my house which I dont ususally like cause I am afraid to wear my wigs.
I get worried if I wear a wig and rest my head on the back of the couch it will mess up,afraid it will damage faster, and also cause I smoke, even thou it's only me that smokes I smoke rarely.
How can I be afraid to wear a wig in my own house? Am I being weird here?

New wig purchases! LOVE THEM!

So when I went back in February and got my first wig, I went to the salon recommended by my aunt who wears a topper. I liked the hairstylist and she made me feel very comfortable with taking the step I did. I liked my first wig, but it just wasn't fitting me or my head right.

What have I done wrong in life?

Finallly decided to have a great time and have some wine, Feels quite good and takes away some of my pain that I feel. Updates!

Hey everyone!

So I've met up with my dermatologist last wednesday to review on my progress.

I've been doing DCP treatment for a month now, using the lowest dosage of DCP solution (0.0001)

So I told the doc about my unpigmented fuzz on my scalp, and he told me that its still to early to tell. He told me it will be good if they continue to growing longer, denser and thicker into real hair.

So depressed today

So I thought I found the perfect wig. I finally started to look like me again and I was so happy for the few days I wore it. Well, after about three days of wearing it, it started falling apart. The ends are so dry and I can't even get the wig comb through it. It's synthetic and it cost almost $400. I can't afford to keep buying wigs. I tried washing as the directions said. Is there a bald woman on the new show, The Voice?

I happened to see a commercial for the new singing competition show, The Voice. I watched it several times on my DVR because part of the way through it, they show what appears to be a bald or shaven-headed woman contestant. On the official website for the show, they have a trailer and at 0:24 in the trailer, there's a quick shot of the woman. The show premiers April 26 on NBC. The "twist" is apparently that the judges/mentors don't see the contestants before judging their vocal talent.
