New hair

Well I have new hair!! My sis helped me on Thurs bond my new lace wig to my head. It is so odd to look in the mirror and see me with hair....lots and lots of hair! So far so good, it is different to have something on when I go to sleep or workout, I have wore regular wigs off and on over the last 15 years, but this is the first bonded one. My kids and super pumped about me going swimming with them or down a waterslide....I can't wait. I have spent way too much time on the sidelines.

Jobs anyone?

Hi I'm charlotte and I have alopecia since I was 10 years old but after 4 years of different painful treatments it all grew back again. But after I think 6 or 7 years it all start again. So I started to consult a dermatologies so I undergo some procedure. Like steriods that I have to endure after work to under go 15 injections...ouchhhh....hmmmm!

Alone on this journey and need to vent

well i have tried and thought i was doing ok.....the nervous breakdown i had from bullying at work i thought i was getting over it but it seems not, the last 2 days i am back to square one :(



lack of hair is really getting to me as no matter what i put on my head irritates, gives me headaches, will try shaving what is left off if that don't work will just give up..hope the guy responsible will feel the guilt for a very long time........sorry just need to vent

Nervous, excited, scared, need a drink maybe?

So next weekend I have my consultation with the hair salon regarding options for a wig for me. It has been a long 15 years with dealing with my androgenic alopecia and I am finally taking back control, but now I am a little scared. Grateful

In four days I will be leaving from Ontario, Canada to go to Nebaj, Guatemala on a mission trip. I may sound like some crazy religious person but I won't lie when I say it is God's will that I am going there. Ever since I felt I wanted to go, everything has fallen into place and I feel compelled - I have to do this! Becoming an EMT with alopecia?

Anyone here in an EMT or paramedic with alopecia?....if so, what's your experience ?.....do you wear wigs, ect?....I would greatly appreciate your feedback because I just startted my first day of class

Memories

Well I had the day off today; kids are in school, hubby at work, so I decide to do some heavy cleaning. I came across some pictures of Alex before he started losing his hair and I realized that I didn't remember what he looked like with hair. These days

Im pretty excited about going to an Alopecia Specialist soon. Dr. Lynn Goldburg in Boston, MA. She has such a high success rate. I just hope it all works out. I have 2 new wigs from Christmas and they are wonderful, I've found that I actually like the cheaper material wigs better than the expensive ones. They seem to look more natural and come in fun colors and styles. My confidence was broken in early December when me and my Fiance broke up, we both said a lot of hurtful things but end it… Continue

Dating?

Oh well.. How come i never bump into any nice guys who are willing to date me even when im wearing a wig.

I look good in wig. But when they knew im wearing a wig.. Their facial expression just gone twisted and never date me out ever again.

Moments of clarity

Yesterday, on my way to my monthly appointment to clean and reattach my integration system I had two humorous moments of clarity.



1.

I'm sitting in my car, and I pull off my headband-earmuff thing to go inside. My hair stands straight up. "Man, i knew this thing would give me hat hair," I say to myself. Then I burst out laughing. When my biggest problem is "hat hair," as apposed to "no hair," life is pretty good.
