I finally lost all hair except a few strands, it came out soo fast. Anyways I am growing it all back once it fell out it all started to grow back, and its thicker than it ever was. I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before that there hair fell out only once and just grew back all together. I am hoping it was just a one time thing. See all my hair started falling out once I was on a blood thinner heparin, which a few months ago they had discovered it was contaminated in the time…

golly, it's always nice to hear how I'm pretty -even though- I'm bald.
Warms my heart to know to know it's not
that grossly distracting.
You know, I think I'm pretty good at having a positive attitude about all of this alopecia junk, but sometimes it's really discourging. Why does everybody's responce to "I have no eyebrows" have to be "you can get tattoo eyebrows." Or whenever it comes up.. I'm always encourage me to wear wigs/scarves/hats/etc, because then nobody…

It does make me so angry when I hear that ignorant losers have called Hayley insulting names, it want to punch them all very hard - although I do realise that wouldn't be a good move!! I would like to tell them all that they will never come within a thousand miles of being the inspirational and wonderful person that Hayley is. It makes you want to believe in karma and that all people get what they deserve in the end.

Sooo,
Went to the derm today. The Lidex gel I was using was starting to give me some zits (3) in my spot..gross. She suggested I take it a step down and use something a little less strong. Gave me some samples, which was cool. Also got more shots...which, I would like to say, hurt like HELL. I remember the shots hurting from the 1st spot, but these really really hurt...we had to take a break!
Anyway, the good news is that the whole spot is covered in hair! My husband told…

well as most of you know my 8 year old has Alopecia and has for almost a year now. We have decided to stop treatments as they do work but hair just falls out in other places and falls out again in the regrowth, so whats the point. I just wanted to share that we have stopped obsessing over how to treat it and decided to just live with it.

Yesterday as I was travelling back from London I stopped at a motorway service station for a coffee. As I stood in the queue another “Alopecian” joined the queue. It was clear that he noticed my Alopecia. It is obvious now that I am not just simply bald as my eyebrows have virtually all gone and so the alopecia is plain to see. He was also completely bald and had no eyebrows so I naturally assumed he was the same as I am, AU.
I was speaking to the person behind the counter but I…

Today I had my first apmt with my sons Endo since the MRI. Welllllllllll that dang nurse gave me the wrong information over the phone. My son in fact does have a tiny tiny tumor 3mmX3mm in size in his pituitary gland. This tiny little tumor is causing his hypothyroidism. The good thing is, no sugury is needed. The dr will re-do the Mri again in one year, unless bloods show it may have grown. Its a microadomena and usually these do not grow. It can in fact mess up his other endocrin organs, and…

Hi , my name is Katie and I am new to this site. I hope someone can help me deal with alopecia areata. I had one spot in November, the hair grew back. Now I have 2 spots the size of a half dollar. The dermatologist injected the spots about 5 weeks ago, hair continues to keep falling out of the same spots. Will go back to the dermatologist next Monday.

I don't know what I'm really doing on this site or why at this point in my life I am so interested in this part of myself. I have been brought up to be proud of who I am and alopecia has never been a major factor in my life. I didn't get my first wig until I was 15 and they are more of a toy than anything else to me. I am still comfortable with who I am although I have encountered a lot of diversity through my life. I don't know why now I am so interested in others and this part of myself.…

I have been looking at everyone's pictures and I am noticing that no one has a red scalp. I have been diagnosed with AA and my scalp is red and often feels tingly. Also, I haven't lost my hair all at once. It has been thinning for over a year now. The part that is frustrating is that I keep thinking that my hair is growing back b/c I have hair that is about an inch long around my face (it's like baby hair and it's kind of unmanageable), but as time has gone by I am realizing that my hairline is…

I've been working at the same place for over 7 months now. For those of you who don't know, I endured wearing a wig during the interview process and for the first probationary three months. After three months I ditched the wig and at my managers suggestion that the "customers" would feel more comfortable with seeing something on my head, I donned a scarf or bandana. Since I've worn the scarf I noticed that people seemed to be more concerned that I was ill. I've been asked if I had cancer and…

Wow... i was MIA for a LOOONG time. My computer crashed and school has taken away my life... LOL anyway... i'm back.
:-) treatment seems to be working, maybe? I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. My mom is already convinced that in the space of weeks I'll have all my hair back. I know that's not going to be the case, but I can't convince her of that. Oh well. :-(
Hang in there everyone, hopefully I'll be around more.

Why can't my hair make up its mind?
I shaved my head about a year ago 'cos I was sick of having half long straggly hair, half bald head. I got a freedom wig which I love and wear almost all the time.
Then about 6 months ago, I stopped having to shave at all - which was nice.
Now I have more hair than I've had in a while - most of it is white fuzz but some is getting some colour back too. Part of me thinks, what if it all came back?! But realistically, I know…
