I think I am at my lowest point. I have almost no hair left and I just cry all the time. I don't leave the house except for doctor appointments. I have stopped talking to all of my friends and have even begun to stop talking to family members unless they call me.
I just can't deal with this anymore. I can't even imagine living the rest of my life with this pain. I can't look at myself in the mirror and just feel like i am not "normal." I don't even feel like a real person if that makes…

Just getting tired of having my clean slate in the morning. I imagine myself somedays drawing in my "Angry eyebrows", while other days the "suprised eyebrows", or "sad eyebrows" "happy eyebrows"...add the hair, the eyelashes (which I still have yet to conquer successfully) and there I am...Mrs. Potato Head. It does sometimes give me the giggles when I think of it that way.
Looking for eyebrow tattoo advice, if anyone could give it.
1) What do I look for in a tattoo artist.…

How's that for an Alopecian Fairy Tale title? But seriously almost every day I wake up realizing I've had another dream that my hair returned. It's always the same: I still have some alopecia but my hair is long and covers all of it. When I wake I am a bit surprised and disapointed that it was just a dream. Do any of you have similar sleepy time story lines?. Could the dreams be premonitions, or perhaps my subconscious sending signals to get my hair growing again, or is it just the old stand-by…

I'm contemplating doing what I said I'd never do, shave my head. I'm tired of cleaning hair from all over my house on a daily basis, I almost want to cry when I take a shower, and I cant even look at myself in the mirror anymore. I am very depressed I dont want to leave my house unless i absolutely have to. I have very little hair on the top and two growing patches on the sides of my head.

I joined this site about 6 months ago, and I was not sure what the group was about. I became AA when I was 15. That was 17 years ago.
I can see now that the members here are kind of broken into 2 groups; Those whom are seeking a remedy for there gift, and those who embrace it. I am of the ladder. Oh.. and there is a very small bunch attending simply to try to make money off of all of us, offering a quick simple solution.. for a price.
Alopecea is a greek word, it means "Baldness" and…

I got my second opinion from the private dermatologist on Wednesday.
Overall, I was more satisfied with her explanation of what was happening and felt that she did a much more thorough investigation of my scalp.
The dermatologist said that the alopecia could be hereditary, but she also asked if I had ever suffered from eczema to which I replied that I had patches on my legs and hands when I was younger. It's the first time that I'd heard about a possible link with…

Hi guys, so I have been struggling with shedding for the past 19 months on and off with hair shedding. My hair is noticeabley thinner and it feels like I am washing so little hair in the shower lately. My eyelashes have started to thin considerbaly and I ALWAYS have lashes all over my face. I still have thme though, so that keeps me hopeful. My question though is that I have been scratching the hell out of my eyes lately and wonder if that means I will be loosing them soon. My head is very…

A friend told me about this.
VW apparently thinks people from the future will be bald.

I am pretty sure the bald heads are makeup jobs. Too bad. They could have come here and probably found a few aspiring alopecian actors and actresses.
Still, a cool commercial.

Posted some pics tonight that are a few months old...things are much worse now. Thinking about seeing a therapist for an outside outlet. Anyone had positive results with this?

I just got home from a dermatologist appointment. I haven't seen her in about 6 months, due to the fact I learned I was pregnant and was not willing to get the cortisone shots during the pregnancy. My hair is falling out rapidly and I asked her if it was because I am pregnant and it really started falling out fast when I got pregnant. (My AA has been active 6 years, and it was only in the past 6 months that I couldn't cover it). She told me that my hair loss has NOTHING TO DO WITH HORMONES. I…

Heey Everyone.
I Thought I Would Share This With All The Alopecians.
Last June I Invested In A Hair System From This Posh Place In London.
And I Thought It Was Amazing.
I Got The Hair System In October 2008. Then A Month Later It Ripped At The Fringe.
I Was Not Impressed Or Happy At All.
I Had To Wait Till January 09 To Get An Appointment For My Other Hair System.
So I Went Back Had The Other One Put On And Left The Other One There To Be Repaired.
I…

I know today's Oprah show was a rerun, God knows I had several people tell me months ago the revelation that my hair loss was caused by a brain tumor!!!!!!! I finally caught the episode where the infamous Dr. Oz scared the livin' crap outta this poor lady, telling her that her hairloss (oh, by the way, I'd give the world to have what she had) that she could possibly have a brain tumor causing it...........NOW....anything is possible in this crazy world, but he highly recommended her having a…

What is so wonderful about British weather is that it changes so much and so often. Only a few weeks ago we were all basking in a glorious hot summer spell. The sun was warming my bald head whenever I went outside and it was wonderful. Today as I walk along my head is drenched and the rain is running off my head and down into my unprotected eyes. On an appearance basis my lack of eyebrows is not a problem as I quite like the total hairless image but they did serve a purpose in that they did…

Hello Friends,
It has been a wonderful year indeed. Unexpected and unpredictable.
It was an unusually warm and clear summer night in San Francisco. A night full of laughter and celebration with friends. It was July 4th 2007.
After the smoke and embers cleared I awoke and went off to work. But there was a suprise waiting for me. Something different. A small circle on my head appeared before me. I thought what is this? Had an ember of my Independence fallen upon…
