life without a wig

It has been 26 weeks since I first lost my hair. After many steriod shots, minoxdil applications, no night shifts, and eating right, I FINALLY HAVE REGROWTH~~~~~~~ I can go out without a wig. Although my hair strand is thinner than normal, at least I can have my own hair on my own head. Hopefully my regrowth will stay...

nose hair

this question is so weird.

i don't have any hair in my nose and since i'm allergic to so many things, i'm always inhaling things.

does anyone else have this problem?

if so, what do you do about it?

Feelings...

I'm not even sure what I feel right now. I am going to school to be a sign language interpreter so I am comfortable with being involved with the Deaf culture/Deaf community and I have always imagined how life would be if my daughter was somehow different from other kids. I thought that I would embrase it with positivity and open mindedness, that it would not change a thing. That I would adapt and do what needed to be done without feeling sad for her but I just can't do that right now. I don't… Continue

I GOT MY A LEVELS!

I am so happy. I got 3 A's! I never expected it as I've been so stressed with my hair and stuff but I am so happy. Sorry this is just a silly blog but I am just bouncing. Maybe the relief of the stress will cause some regrowth. One can only hope...

Some People

One day this last spring my daughter (she has alopecia) and her twin brother were in gymnastics and another mother (I think she is a doctor) was talking to her friend and what happened next floored me. In a normal voice (not in hushed tone that she was having the converstion in) ask her friend if my daughter (she pointed at her) was a boy. I never wanted to deck anybody so bad in my life. I was so blown away by the insenitivity that I could not speak.

Is it me

Sometimes I feel on top the world, confident and great with looking different, but sometimes I feel too different and people are looking at you like you have the nerve to look the way you look. I wonder are the people around me that are suppose to be my friends and associates are they really? Are they talking and laughing at me behind my back? For the most part we should not really worry about these things cause people going to talk about you regardless but there is that thing on your mind that… Continue

Feeling very isolated

This is really hard for me reaching out to anyone. I've been dealing with this hair loss for two years and feeling very alone. My husband and kids have a hard time to. I can't explain the greif I'm in and they get frustrated with me. I've been wearing wigs for two years now when i first began losing my hair. I still have hair and try to hang on to every little strand that's left. It's so hard dealing with the mean comments from people. I desperatley need someone to understand the sadness and… Continue

So...is it all starting over again..!!!

Well, it seems that my hair is starting to come out again, I'm noticing the same pattern as last time and got really excited when all the patches started growing back and the overall thinning growing back, I still have new re-growth all over and honestly not sure if Im over reacting, all i can hope is Iam.
But i cant hide the feeling that its starting...again.....

Ive been away...

Haven't had the internet for a bit. Occacionally the roomate and I can pick up a signal from one of the businesses around us, so we'll have that for a few days then i think they catch on. LoL.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew about support groups and where you could look to see if there is one in your area? My mom has been pushing me to find one, which I suppose would really help. I'm sure it would be embarassing and hard at first to really speak about my condition, but i… Continue

Down in the Dumps, Feeling Alone.

Is this feeling of loss and sadness ever going to go away?

90% of the time I feel completely accepting and fine with having female pattern baldness. In fact, I was beginning to feel pretty damn good about myself and the situation, regardless of the fact that I'll be chopping my hair off shortly and am still losing clumps every night. But then today one of my friends sent me a picture of me three years ago - back when I had my full head of hair and was in all my glory - and an immense… Continue

My Brute

My Brute is a silly little game with no skill involved whatsoever.
Click Here-----> http://brandysnap.mybrute.com
After you click the link, it's quite simple. Enter your name, make your brute look how you want, and click validate. It will show you a quick video of you fighting me. After that, you can go back to your cell, where it will say your stats, outcomes of recent fights, etc. Click the arena button to start fighting and leveling up.

A Haircut

I just got a new "haircut". I bought a new wig and it looks like I just cut my hair. It's also a lot more comfortable too. It has a mesh cap as opposed to the usual lace, plus, it fits much better since it's a petite size and not the usual average size which always buckled up on the back because my head is small. I'm temporarily happy; that is until my own hair actually starts growing back again. :)

Trying to remember name of cream that turned my head purple

I am trying to recreate my treatment history for alopecia, starting back in the '90s. One treatment was a cream that turned my head purple and itched me like crazy. I think the idea was to stimulate the hair follicles. I had to put it on with surgical gloves so as not to turn my hands purple. I don't remember what that was, and it's not in my medical file. Anyone else use it/remember what this is?
