Hello my bald brothers and sisters!
I have asked one of my MySpace friends if I could copy his post here. Bryan Eden is part of "Tribe of Eden" a group of hardrockers bringing a positive message to the world through their music. He shared this story in a recent bulletin and I wanted to share it all with you! I am certain, that as Bryan proved...with love...anything is possible! Enjoy and please visit his sites that I listed at the bottom. I thought this was an incredbily powerful testiment…

when i was a teenager, each time i woke up and got ready in the mirror, i had less and less hair. my first solution was to close the shades on the window behind the mirror so that you could not see the light through my hair. but then that didnt work for long. then i started hanging a black towel behind my head as i got ready in the mirror, and the darkness of the towel tricked my eye into thinking my thin dark hair was full. that wasnt enough after a while either. i discovered the miracle of…

As much as writing is a healing process for me, and as much as writing makes me feel better, I find myself becoming victim more and more to that dreaded curse of the writer -- writer's block!!! Perhaps it is because I have so many thoughts running in my head that I hardly know where to start writing them down. I know sometimes I have a story laid out in my head, but by the time I can get to pen and paper or a keyboard to start writing it, I've forgotten what it was that captured my attention,…

When you're weary
Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I'll dry them all
I'm on your side
Oh..When times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When the darkness comes
And…

I just want to share an experience I had when attending a luncheon 6 months ago...I got a chance to meet 9 other beautiful women who shared the same condition I have...Alopecia.
Finally I got a chance to see someone of my likeness, some women came to the function without wigs and others had wigs on, but we still shared our stories and felt a sisterhood in our likeness.
I left that luncheon with the understanding of knowing:
We do have options and choices of what we…

This is a story I had in a blog back in October of 2007, you will see as you read on I get pretty upset...
Well, I had been working up to this point of reviling my Baldness at work for about a month on my job. Trying to prepare folks on my job for the drastic change. I posted information about the "Bald Girls Do Lunch" in the company break room's bulletin board as well as showing the local newspaper articles that were going around about the luncheon that showed a picture of me in my…

I first discovered my bald spot during Christmas break while I was at my boyfriend's house. I was playing with my hair... I felt a bald spot at the back of my head but I had known it was there about 6 months prior. It didn't bother me because when I was in high school I had a small bald spot near my upper hairline, and it grew in. I just thought this other spot would grow in too. But that day I asked my boyfriend to check how big the spot was, and he told me it not loonie sized... more like a 6…

So I have this delima.... I've had alopecia since October of 2005. That's a little more than two & a half years now. Mines AA and pretty bad. I'd say I have maybe 25% of my hair left. I keep it cut short & hide it under my wigs. This has made huge changes in my life. I haven't been swimming at a pool or to the lake in almost two years. I did go to the beach once but was a nervouse wreck the whole time. I am a "Summer Girl" and used to do this stuff all the time. Since I figure my hair…

I sat at work and and realize I am having a tougher time with her AA then she is... Is it wrong to be a parent who wants their child to get better? I wrote this to my child in hopes she will one day know what I felt as she went through this ordeal.
MOTHER’S LOVE
Everyday I fight to be the person she needs me to be
When deep inside I feel like I am dying
Lost in a world between life and reality
I sit and hope she is stronger than me
This…

It's really interesting, how easy it is becoming for me to forget about Tracey's alopecia! When he was first diagnosed 3 years ago, I couldn't think of anything else! I would look at him and see it, and always wonder what people thought when they would look at him as well. I remember being so sad for him that I would cry! Now, I just forget! My husband and I signed him up for Tae Kwon Do this week and forgot to inform his instructor of his alopecia. When we went for his second class, she pulled…

Okay, so maybe I'm not the most original being on the planet sometimes, but I love answering silly ass questions just so someone can go, "man, is she just OFF or what??" I got to send this one to Bola so he can put it on his blog too! If you want the greatest downtime reading, check this spot out: http://liketofight.blogspot.com.

Well, I haven't posted a blog yet, so I thought I'd share a story. I went to a tattoo parlor with my roommate today to get a piercing. I had been there once before (about a year ago) and the guy recognized me, but then again, how hard is it to not remember a bald girl? Anyways, being curious, he said "So, you don't have any body hair?" I was like, "no," and then preceded to tell him about alopecia and what it was. Needless to say, he had never heard of it (not many have), but was definitely…
