Does anyone else suffer from an extremely runny nose due to the lack of or no nose hair at all????
I have come to the conclusion that my nose is a never ending faucet due to the fact that I have no noise hair and it causes my nose to be sensitive to a lot of things and smells?
PLEASE let me know if any of you guys have experienced or are experiencing this right now.
Thanks!
Montoya!

It has been awhile since I have visited, I don't know why I stay away, I love, love reading everyone's blogs. I am brought to tears, and inspired every single time:)
I have a question to pose to my fellow alopecian's...When interviewing for a job when do you bring up the subject of alopecia? I wear scarves and hats and know that many people take one look at me and assume cancer. So what about for a job interview? I look forward to hearing what you all think:)

My names Tina. I just turned 18, I was diagnosed with AA when I was 17. I really just want to talk to someone who is having the same struggles as I am. Its very hard not personally knowing anyone with this. I still have some of my hair, I just wish it was all of it. I'm so embarrassed to have to wear extensions, I try not to tell anyone. I will be honest: I completely HATE alopecia. Its been hard coming to terms with. I know I will eventually feel better about it. I see people on here that can…

I'm talking about nose hairs. Really!! I never knew what the purpose was until I lost them. Now if my nose is runny, I better be really close to a box of tissues or it will drip right out of my nose. Not only that, I always have something in my darn eye now too. Good grief, if nothing else grows back..... please Lord give me my eye lashes and nose hairs. Amen.

So this morning I decided it was time for me to not isolate myself which is what I been doing lately, and I decided it's time for a little pampering.
Went out got my nails done, timmies, shopping and bought a brow pencil to color in some brows and OMG what a disaster i made. I hate it and I have no clue how to color them in. I got the right color ( dark blond) as I normally like my blond wigs.
God sure didn't make things easy when he took away my hairs and brows :(

I've had my new wig (Codi by Amore) for only one month & it's already super frizzy. Well, the long layers anyway. The back that is short is still great but not the front. SO frustrating. I think I might have to stay away from A-line bob hairstyles because this happens to me all the time wearing A-line hairstyles. Ugh.

We all have a freedom of choice who we "accept" as friends on here, to whose opinions we respond, how we change our profile words, headings or photos, and what we wear on our heads. For me, I tend to stay away from trouble once I see that my words will have no impact for change or peace, or when I sense someone who has never even had a discussion with me suddenly wants to snoop at my personal conversation history or photos, and is very persistent about it only after seeing a certain photo in…

For a while now I had thinning brows and knew eventually they would be gone, except yesterday I woke up and had no brows, I cried alot over it, I felt like an alien with no hair, no brows, my lashes are very very thin, I was so upset over this and never told my hubby and the funny thing was he and no one else in my household noticed anything!! Considering my brows were fairly dark.
That just made it little easier for me knowing they either really didn't notice or they did and didn't want…

I hadn't been on here for a bit, I'd been trying not to think about it. I went ahead and got the shots in two of my spots nd they seemed to work, but now my hair is thinning again and I counted around six new spots. They're small now but that's how it all started. My scalp is so itchy and sensitive to the touch, when I take a shower clumps nd clumps fall out. Today I was even scared of brushing my hair cause I didn't want to see how much I'm losing. It's really upsetting me and no one…

So today my family and I went to a water park and I went for the first time with nothing on my head. It was such an awesome feeling. Not to worry about anything falling off, I felt free and it was great. TO anyone who is afraid to do it, just go for it, I was nervous, but I figured people stare at me with my hat on so whats the difference if I don't have anything on. My husband said he knew I was a strong person, but now he really knows what a strong person I am, lol
Just go for it,…

Just out of curiosity I have a question,,,
Has anyone ever slept in their wigs using a silky net?
If so does that ruin the wig??
would love anyone's input on this please as I bought a silk net and the woman at the store told me I could sleep in my wig as long as I had the net on but they will say anything to sell something to you!
Thank-you

Hello Fellow Alopecians,
I'm new to Alopecia World but I am thrilled to have found a site like this. I was feeling like I was the only person in the world with this condition. I was first diagnosed with Alopecia when I was 16. (I'm now 36.) I had a couple of spots in the back of my head. After a few rounds of shots, the hair grew back. 20 years later, the same spots appeared after taking on a new and very stressful job. I figured I would get some shots and they would grow in again.…

My name is Allie, and I am a wigaholic. I've been obsessed with wigs for a year and 8 months. I should join a support group. :) I do not want to say how many I have at the moment. Those who wear synthetic wigs know they don't last forever, so in my defense, I need new ones occasionally when one wears out.
I love the different styles and colors. When I find a style that I really like, I want the wig in blonde, brown and red! There are three wigs that I have in two colors each. I…

Good morning :)
Yesterday was my first post ever and it was such a great experience that i couldn't help but post again this morning.... I know its 10am, but Im a huge night owl and was up pretty late working on my bike.
A comment made on my blog yesterday got me thinking about love and Alopecia. One commenter said that "i was lucky yo have a boyfriend who adores me" they also added "why wouldnt he?" Of course those of us, like that lovely person, know that there is no…

Hello everyone,
Never posted on a site like this before but I figure I should give it a go.
Maybe a little background is a helpful. I have had Alopecia all my life... haven't we all? My hair started to fall out when I was 11 and over the years has grown back and all fallen out again. I've tried almost everything (light treatment hasn't really excited me enough to bother with yet) but nothing has seemed to work.
So you might be wondering what the point of my post…

Can anyone out there recommend a short natural synthetic wig that has a monofilament top? If you are like me, you have probably purchased more wigs that you don't like than those that you do. I am just beside myself as to shopping online and trying to decide what would work best for me. I have some wigs that I have never worn that I would be more than willing to sell at a very low price if anybody would be interested in buying. Just let me know.

Well, I haven't been on here for the longest time, but I find myself needing more support right now since I am very close to losing all of my hair. For a while, I had been experiencing so much regrowth that I was becoming very hopeful that this "worst case" of alopecia was over. The top of my head started growing in pretty thick even though the bottom half of my head was still pretty much bald. However, I was optimistic that I might actually have my own hair for my wedding next September.…

I started a discussion...and it started me thinking.
I am continually amazed by this site, which, after posing a heated discussion not 24 hours ago, has already filled 5 internet pages with encouragement, stories, and advice on my issue of HIDING under a hat and how to be free. I have struggled my whole life to find commonality with women (and man) in this; my friends all understand, but from an outsiders view, but they still lovingly style their hair each morning, and complain of having…

Yesterday I went to the store for some food. Suddenly an older foreign woman is flipping me her finger. I look around and it takes a second before i realise it is really me she means. Then she starts screaming - racist! bla bla bla, fu-ing racist bla bla... ehh, I am so surprised that I can´t get a word out. She walks away.
Then she comes back after a minute - and starts screaming again... then she says cancer? and points at my bald head. -" if not - racist! bla bla…
