a long overdue update

HELPP!!

i have AA and most of my hair is gone and my doctor wants me to take steroids by mouth :( what should i do? has anyone had any experiance with that drug , by mouth???
My auntie took them by mouth and it made her body shape change and gave her facial hair! should i take them?? or not?

stepping out of my comfort zone

so i joined a gym. i need to get healthy and fit as well as focus on myself more. so i thought i would join a gym, something i never ever thought i would do. in fact i use to fear it.

i was scared when i joined. i looked at a womans only one first, it was beautiful!!!

but expensive and no one i knew goes their, nothing would push me to go.

WHY DOES YOUR BALD SPOTS SWEAT SO MUCH.

I have never sweat so much in my life, the bald spots sweat to much. Please help anyone have the same problem.

HCK (Hairclub for kids)

hck is wonderful place to get wigs you pick the color they measure your head then they send it off when it gets in they just glue it on and every6 to 8weeks they take it off and glue it back you get four free wigs a year if your under 18

Don't order from mylash!

So I have been on a search lately for good false bottom lashes since it is so hard to find ones that look natural. I have some lower lashes but they are never quite all there and have no pigment. I gave mylash.com a try because I'd read about it in discussions on the site and ordered the "sultry lower lash." Two week update... good and bad

That's me been using the Dermovate cream for two weeks now.



The good news... on my 2 biggest patches I can see some white fuzzy hair coming through. My wife tells me that the patch on the top of my head has even longer white fuzz (but I can't see it very well). No dark hair yet but I'm keeping everything crossed.



The bad news... I can see the start of 3 possible new patches, 2 of which are really close to the patch on the top of my head. That makes 7 patches on my head now… Continue

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear, and Fuzzy Wuzzy liked his hair.

Bad day turned to bad couple weeks

After having been bald for more than 6 years you would think that I would finally have accepted my hair loss but apparently I haven't (even though I thought I had). As some of you guys know I recently graduated high school and in a few weeks I will be starting college. It's hard to hold it together sometimes

A few weeks ago I went to a neighborhood Bunco. I was excited. It would be nice to hang out with everyone all in one place since we were all scattered during the summer. I tried to fix my hair as best as I could. I've come to peace with wearing barrettes, even though at the age of 37, I wish I didn't have to. HOSPITAL

I'm going to have major surgey this month. They send me some paper work what i could take with me one item on the list say i cant have a wig on. I dont go no where with out my wig its my confort blanket to outside world. I ask the doctor about the problem he said nobody will realy pay attention whats on or off my head. but i will its like back in school i still worry what people will say.

Early morning encouragement!

I really like working in the hotel industry, because there's never a dull moment on my job -- and sometimes I get inspired and encouragement from the most unlikely sources.



For example, my hotel houses layover crews from Delta Airlines. A lot of the pilots and flight attendants come in on the same flights pretty regularly, so the opportunity is there to get to know them. And as always, the opportunity is always there to educate them about alopecia.

Annoyed at my head right now

So I am heading to a music festival in BC this weekend, which is very exciting! It's a very open and accepting environment, people wear crazy costumes, go naked or whatever...



I had mentioned long ago that I would go bald the whole weekend because it would be easier and people would probably not blink an eye at a bald chick there. My friends are not going to let me take my wig (except my bright pink one!)

Need Help With Wig Alternatives, Please :)

So I was diagnosed with Alopecia Aerata this month. My hair is falling out pretty fast. Every time I shower, I get 1/2 a weeks hair in the drain and on the comb. It's falling out in plugs and clumps. I'm a nurse and I wear my hair in a short pony all the time. I'm having a hard time hiding the bald spots. I'm low maintenance and I've never "dressed" my head before, but now I need some quick solutions! Can you please lead the way....thank you!

ANY & ALL HELP ACCEPTED, IT'S ADMINISTRATIVE LAW JUDGE PRESENTATION TIME

Monday, August 10th I go before Medicare's Administrative Law Judge, the hearing I requested was for a cranial prosthesis/wig coverage. The initial request for a wig/cranial prosthesis from my Dermatologist in January was denied.

Medicare, (shame on them & their neanderthal attitudes regarding cranial prosthesis) I am so frustrated, with them, according to one denial letter, in order for a wig to be covered it must,
