I really would like to dye my hair to get rid of my grays. The last time i dyed it was about a year ago. Since then my hair worsened and then repaired itself for the most part as far as my alopecia is concerned, but I don't want to hurt the progress with harmful dyes. Any suggestions?
P.S. I'm sorry if I sound vain, but I hate the gray! I know I can't be the only one who thinks this way, right?

This is all getting a bit much for me, I recently shaved my head, which doesn't bother me because I always got plenty of looks anyway, but the years and years of not having my hair, always getting stared at and always feeling out of place in friend groups, I was messaging a friend the other night, we both feel comfortable enough to talk about our problems and when I confessed to them about how I felt, I literally burst into tears and started crying, I just started wondering why it had to…

Anyone ever tried Denise Russo's Top Secret Haircessory? I bought an expensive topper and had it dyed to match my hair but am finding it somewhat bulky at the top; any way to remedy this? I believe it looks somewhat natural-just seeking opinions.
Thanks,
Kim

I'm just seeking feedback about Lexapro and hair loss. I'm considering a return to it as my depressive/anxiety symptoms are much greater in need of attention than my hair. Just having slowed from a nine month massive shedding, I'm apprehensive to try a medication that might launch another shed, but also desperate to relieve this horrible anxiety and oppresive sadness. Any insight would be greatly received.

I just received my new, custom made wig today.
It is simply gorgeous!
I have a small head, and this wig fits perfectly.
The unique colour I chose turned out perfect.
It has european human virgin remy hair.
It is the best quality wig I have ever owned.
It arrived in 28 days.
The prices are in USD; even with the current CDN exchange rate, it was still a good deal.
With several emails back and forth, Melesha (who is located in…

In past couple of years, I have gotten few dime and quarter size bald spots around my head. These got little bit bigger and bigger. By coincidence or by stress induced, late last year, after my father's passing, I've lost 90% of my hair in weeks. I've treated with routine steroid shots; but the hair loss continued until pretty much "pure" bald.
After one of the visits with my local dermatologist, she suggested to visit a doctor at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore. So…
ContinueI am looking for someone who can assist with a custom-fit human hair wig for my daughter who is an active person. I have dealt, in the past, with a person in Houston with poor results. Please share any helpful information you might have regarding wig professional in central Texas. Thanks.

blood type diet is the anti lectin diet and this is where Dr Gundry get's his cues from
Q: You mentioned lectins in the blood, what do you think of Dr. D’adamo with his blood type diet…. there’s no study on it but do you have a take?
A: His original thinking was that he set up a paper tiger to knock it down, because the vast majority of people are type O. Isn’t it interesting that the type O diet is the best selling diet and easiest to…

hi everyone! I have had Alopecia Totalis for about 9 years. Every day my hair is uncomfortable, even after all these years I struggle with being okay and comfortable. I am in desperate need of a new good wig. The ones that really work for me, make me feel good and last are $500-$800. I lost my job in September and currently am working only part time still looking for full time work. Financially every day life is a struggle right now. Someone suggested to me to ask Alopecia World to see if…

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone is going this route? We ditched the steroids about a month ago after 8 months of treatment. I am juicing organic fruits and greens each day. We have stocked our kitchen with vegan, non GMO, no gluten, no dairy, pure foods. Our new strict diet is of the highest quality and nutrition packed. Supplements include D3, Omega, B12, Calcium, and probiotics. It has been 6 weeks and hair is still falling rapidly. I was so hopeful it would slow by…

I have had alopecia totalis for 8 years. I tried synthetic wigs and they always matte and are just trashed so I only buy human hair wigs. I have found some of the wigs "state" that they are 100% human hair but actually are 100% human hair "quality" which means they are not human hair and they don't last at all either. My best wigs were around $500 and they were gorgeous Raquel Welch human hair wigs but I don't always have $500 to spend at a time on a wig. I am in dire need of a new…

hi,
I'm new to this. Recently I've lost several patches of hair. I have 3 bald spots. So I went to a Harvard graduate hair loss specialist. She doesn't think that I have alopecia areata. still waiting on biopsy results. What else could this be? Had my thyroid checked... all fine. Had my hormones checked... all fine. just a high white blood cell count.
thanks,
Michelle

Hi everyone,
I recently completed a full head tattoo with an incredible local tattoo artist. When I first decided to do this I tried to find as much info as I could about how to go about it but didn't find as I would have liked. So now that I've gone through the whole thing I documented my own experience in a website. Here's the info from the main…

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone tried Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs with any success with helping hair loss?
We have a Community Acupuncture Practice here in South FL. Basically you sit in a group, in these gravity chairs and the doctor places needles in particular points on the body to open up the energy meridians. You sit there quietly for about 45min to 1hr. The herbs are to help balance out what area according to Chinese medicine that is weak. In addition to alopecia, I have other…

Early on when I was first impacted by Alopecia and I wanted to explain it to the few people I told. I would say that I had an auto-immune disease called Alopecia.
One day someone stopped be as I verbalized this and told me not to ever profess/claim a disease with my mouth or in my mental thoughts.
His position was that are words and powerful, almost as powerful as our thoughts. And that we should all be particular of the language we use to edify our lives.
I…

Him: "Girl you are wearin' that bald head, is that for a reason or just for style."
Me: First I give him the side eye, then I reply "its because I look so good wearing it, as you just pointed out." I continue what I am doing and pay him no extra attention.
Him: "Haha, your sassy; I like you! Do you shave it yourself?"
Me: Thinking to myself, really dude?!?! "I don't have to shave it" I decide to take the educational route and tell him…
