Well, so much for Della getting through the first few days with no complications. Yesterday during recess a little boy took Della's hat and glasses and threw them on the ground. Then, when Della tried to get them back, he grabbed them and ran off. Even though my twins are in different classes, Angel chased him and tried to get them back for her. I guess even some of the girls that she plays with tried to get them back as well. This is all new to her so she didn't know what to do. When the bell…

Okay, so I wake up on Monday morning (after being high and doped up on Ultram all weekend for a bruised tailbone -- don't ask how I got it) and I have to rub my eyes and use a little Visine because lo and behold, my eyebrows are growing back! But instead of being all smooth and nice and pretty like all my pictures show them, they're all patchy and super-blonde! I got a couple of eyelashes too, but quite frankly I don't look for them to stick around long (plus, I'm quite used to no eyelashes --…

Hello Everyone.
This is all new for me. I was recently diagnosed with Alopecia Areata about 4 months ago. I couldnt believe it, Im the kind of person that loved doing my hair, and getting it coloured, and all that girly stuff. Now, the only thing I do with my hair, is try desperately to cover up my bald spots, which is impossible now.
I think Im still in denial. I still believe that maybe my hair will grow back, which it hasnt. I still think that maybe this is just a dream, and Im…

Okay, I stopped shedding for almost 3 weeks but I started shedding heavily recently. I thought that maybe the Rogaine I was using had helped so I started back but now I am shedding again. Maybe it is a result of when I stopped recently or starting back the Rogaine. When I first started using it I seemed to shed alot heavier. So maybe this will take a little time. My scalp and body has been also itching like crazy lately that is when I noticed the shedding coming back. I wonder if it is related.…

My school has this new strict rule about wearing hats unless you have a medical condittion (which i have). The office , security guards and my teachers all know why i wear my hat. So today while me and my friend were walking around the school the head security guy came up to me and said i know you have a reason to wear your hat but i need to see a doctors not (and of course i didnt have one i dont carry around doctors note's with me) so the jerk made me take off my hat (there was a decent…

I haven't had that much time to come on here lately, so I thought I would touch base with what is going on.
1) my hair is still getting worse, but the extensions are still working fine. I have about 20 hairs left right behing my ear and as soon as thoses are gone, then I will be bald from 2 inches above my ear and down. That is ridiculous!
2) My eyebrows are worse, but I still haven't done the tattoo. I found someone else to doit, I'm just waitingfor some money. I hate credit card…

I have, for the first time, bought a wig I like and are comfertable to wear... but it is not as easy as that:)
I have had alopecia for 20 years and have never worn a wig before for more than a coupl of seconds. Ofcourse I have tried some, but never started using it. I have actually been very proud of that. I go out bald without any stuggle or feeling ashamed. I went through my teens and my early twenties bald and proud of it:) And now I see all the beatiful people in the same…

So my school was being sued for years and recently they lost. Some doctors screwed up six years ago and the families of the patients sued and won. So what do they do? Raise the nursing student's tuition! Yeah, good idea. We don't have a nursing shortage and the nurses were the one's who screwed up after all so put it on them (heavy sarcasm). Anyway 2000 a term = 6000 more a year and I have to figure something out.
Then this wonderful scholarship presents itself. I'm stoked it's 5000 a year…

So Day three went pretty well. I wasn't hungry at all, stayed busy with house work and preparing for school, and felt pretty great. I didn't post because I was so busy and I really had nothing to report. The laxative tea that night however didn't work more than to give me a bit of a stomach ache for a short period. The next day (yesterday) however was a bit more difficult. You see my husband had the day off and we pretty much were lounging around ... we went fishing in the morning and the…

I woke up again this morning to stare at several strands of black hair on my pillow and sheets. Earlier in the shower more strands fell out. Looking at myself in the mirror, it doesn't seem like I'm losing anything. In fact, my hair looks like it's growing. But I know that's not the case. This Friday when I go see Miss Peggy to get my new wig, I think I'm going to ask her to shave off the hairs on my head right now. I didn't think I'd be so emotional about this decision, but even now I'm choked…

SO.... HAIRS ARE GROWING BACK IN CERTAIN SPOTS.... wait for it wait for it.....
Oh that's right, the hairs growing back are completely WHITE!
I can't wait, I hope long white hairs start to grow and then hopefully it will cover my head and then I can have the hair of an 80 year old women. I'll grow it out all long and then I'll start carrying a staff and you can then call me Gandolf or Dumbeldor... haha. I like let it all down and roll down the windows while I drive and let…

as the pictures on my last post show...it is impossible to hide my spots. I have been wearing scarves and hats for the past two weeks. actually one hat, because up until yesterday, i only had one. it was a little difficult to plan everything i wore around one hat, especially when i need to do laundry :D. Anyway, I like the I can wear hats and scarves, but it just isn't practical for every single day at my job. So, I spent yesterday wig shopping. I found one that is exactly like my hair was, or…

The funniest thing happened to me last night. I was inside Wendy's waiting for my order to be served when I heard this lady "Miss, Miss, where did you get your hair?" I must have thought to myself "I dont think she is talking to me." But she was and she said it again even louder and this time she added "thats some good stuff" which prompted the other workers to say yeah that is nice.
I actually felt flattered considering my community is filled with women who are obsessed with weaves…

I'm a thinker. Sometimes I over-think, sometimes I don't think enough. But when I have time to myself to just Be, all of that doesn't seem to matter. (After all, sometimes we all get caught up in trying to do so much that we forget to Be...)
I was thinking the other day about the little moments in life that happen in just seconds, yet have the ability to profoundly impact your life. I've got a few of those that stand out in my mind, but I'm remembering right now about one specific…
